Your Questions, Answered
What can I expect and how do I prepare for my massage?
When you book a mobile massage, I may text or call you before the session (usually a day or more before the session) to confirm the appointment. This is mostly due to safety reasons and to verify that there are no inappropriate intentions for booking. I will go over your completed intake form and health history that is important to know before the session. To make the most of your treatment time, please be ready for your therapist's arrival. Plan ahead by moving furniture, showering, and completing any necessary tasks. Please provide a clean, open, area for the massage to be performed in. Working area needs to be at least a minimum of 120-140 sq ft with access to electrical outlets.
For more preparation information, please review the policies below.
Do you go to Henderson, KY / Owensboro, KY?
No, I am only licensed in the state of Indiana.
Do you do deep tissue massage?
Most people equate deep tissue massage with deep pressure, but there is a difference. Deep tissue encompasses various massage techniques to target muscle and connective tissue. A massage therapist could work lightly while affecting body tissues deeply. I get to the deeper layers of muscle tissues by working slowly and / or while incorporating passive stretches. While this can feel intense, I do not believe in the "no pain, no gain" philosophy as applying brute force can be counterproductive due causing more unnecessary tension to an already tense body.
Do you do couples massage?
No, unfortunately there's I am the only massage therapist so massage can't be performed simultaneously. Back- to-back sessions can be booked.
Should I Undress Completely During Massage?
I recommend you undress to your preferred level of comfort. Fully clothed sessions can also be performed. During your treatment, your body will be professionally draped with a top sheet and blanket. No part of your body will be exposed or worked on without your consent. If for some reason, you feel uncomfortable during your therapy session, we encourage you to let us know.
Do you take insurance?
No, we do not take insurance but we can print and/or email you a receipt and notes for your visits that you can send to your provider. Please check that they can reimburse for massage beforehand.
Should I tip?
It is not mandatory, but is appreciated if you feel the need to do so.
Can I book an appointment for my wife?
Yes, I can help you make an appointment for your wife. She will need an intake form filled out prior to her massage so I can view her health history and get consent to perform the massage.
Could I have my massage in my backyard?
Yes, if the weather is appropriate. Outdoor sessions can be done with temperatures between 60 F to 75 F.
Can I use my own massage table, sheets, or lotions?
Yes, just let me know prior to booking your massage?
Do you offer massage to people under the age of 18?
At this time, I do not.
Where can you set up?
If there’s enough space, pretty much anywhere (pool side, home, hotel, office.)
I prefer silence during a massage. Is that ok?
Silence is perfectly fine as I tend to work quietly. I’ll speak when I spoken to, however I will ask about comfort and pressure during the session.
How do you stay safe?
I share appointment locations, start and end times of sessions with my husband.

Policies
To ensure satisfaction and safety for both the client and therapist, please review the following polices and procedures:
The therapist has the right to refuse service to any client / potential client displaying questionable and or inappropriate behavior. There's no tolerance for inappropriate comments or insinuative jokes about massage being anything other than a professional therapeutic service. This includes phone, email, text, or social media, and in-person interactions. Any such behavior will not be tolerated and will result in the termination of the session and the client being responsible for the full amount of service charge. Future services will also be denied and local authorities will be contacted.
reservations
A credit card is required to reserve all treatment session appointments. New client bookings start with a short phone call or a questionnaire to discuss your reasons for seeking massage, health questions, review policies, and make sure we are a good fit for each other as well as for safety. With the exception of event chair massage sessions (these require on-site liability waiver forms), complete intake forms are required for all massages. Intake forms must be fully completed prior to appointment (Confirmation email provides link to intake forms). Failure to do so will result in 100% cancellation fee. Intake forms are only completed once a year for clients. Please contact me if there any issues with completing your intake form.
first time clients
For safety concerns and to reduce no-shows, new clients are required to pay a non-refundable 50% deposit when scheduling an appointment with a credit / debit card. This deposit is applied to your service price. In addition to payment, an intake form must be completed prior to appointment. Your appointment is NOT confirmed if neither payment and intake are not completed. The last 50% will be paid day of service unless opting to pay full price. Please pay your remaining balance in credit/debit or cash. Further refusal to submit payment-in-full will result in actions taken by Thrive Mobile Therapeutics and/or a third-party (i.e., attorney, debt collection agency) to collect the outstanding debt.
existing clients
A credit card is required to hold all appointments and will be charged at the end of your scheduled appointment unless another payment option is specified. This credit card will also be used to charge fees associated with late cancellations and no-shows.
lateness
The treatment session time begins once the client is on the table. If the therapist is late due to unforeseen circumstances (traffic, car accident, etc), they will contact the client by phone. No time will be deducted from the scheduled treatment session. Late starts due to no fault of the massage therapist (example: client is not available at the specified time of arrival or at the agreed-upon location, client is on the phone, etc) will not receive a time extension and the original treatment session total will be charged.
If you are 15 minutes or more late & you haven't responded to calls or texts, the appointment will be considered a no show. After a no-show, clients will be charged 100%. We understand that sometimes being late is unavoidable. However, depending on circumstances, we may be forced to shorten or reschedule your service. Clients who arrive late will be charged in full for their scheduled session, but may receive a shorter session. Clients needing to reschedule are welcome to do so 24 hours prior to appointment time.
cancellations
Clients are required to provide a minimum of 24 hours notice for any cancellation or rescheduling of appointments. If client gives more than 24 hours notice, service will be cancelled at no charge (applies to existing clients). Less than 24 hours notice, 50% of the service price will be charged. No calls, no shows, 100% of the service will be charged. Wrong addresses will also be treated as no shows.
disputed charges
Disputed charges after services are rendered or due to fees associated with cancellation, no-show, and late arrivals per our policies, will result in a continuation of charge attempts. If the bank finds the dispute to be out of our favor despite sufficient evidence of a service or policy agreement, we retain the right to bill for associated fees and will pursue all legal and civil avenues to garner such payment.
address confirmation
Please make sure that you have provided the correct address you wish for me to come to for the service, including any apartment number, etc. Failure to do so could result in a full "no-show" charge.
parking fees & access
We ask all our clients to cover any parking fees prior to the arrival of the therapist.
Make sure to provide parking information and have a designated nearby spot for your therapist. Please specify if it’s a driveway, street, or valet parking. It would also beneficial to list any landmarks (ex: large red rose bush, yellow car, utility pole, etc) to help find your location.
Please consider whether your home is suitable to receive mobile massage services as our equipment can be heavy and is not designed to be carried far. It is essential that we have safe access and parking for your mobile session to take place. This means private parking, a designated space next to the house, or plentiful roadside parking. We will not be able to offer services where we will need to cross a main road with our equipment or travel from a carpark or area more than 100 yards away. If your property has lots of steps, steep slopes, or is difficult to access, then we may require your assistance.
clean up
Please allow access to a bathroom or a sink so the massage therapist can wash hands before and after session.
sanitization
All surfaces will be sanitized and washed between each client. Proper hygiene and handwashing protocols are also followed.
hygiene
It is important to shower before a massage appointment. This not only makes the experience more enjoyable for both parties, but also helps to maintain a hygienic environment. Additionally, showering before a massage can help to relax you and prepare your body for the therapeutic benefits of the treatment.
illness
Reschedule if you are ill, have a fever, an excessive cough, or are contagious.
conduct
Services are strictly therapeutic and professional. Full draping is a must and not an option and is required by law.
location safety
In the interest of safety, treatment sessions are highly recommended to take place on the first floor at the client's location. If this is not possible (an apartment not located on ground level) and there is no access to a working elevator, please make note of this when booking an appointment.
weather events
During weather events such as snow, ice, severe weather (strong thunderstorms & tornadoes), flooding, if the therapist feels unsafe to make the trip, we will reach out to reschedule for our soonest next availability.
phone
We strive to maintain a sense of peacefulness and tranquility for our clients at all times. Because of this, we kindly ask that all clients refrain from taking/placing calls on their mobile devices and that these devices either be turned off or placed on silent.
Interruptions
Interruptions of the treatment session (attending to children or pets, phone calls /texts, restroom breaks that are not pregnancy-related/medically necessary) will not suspend the client's treatment time.
age
Must be 18 or older to make a reservation for any massage therapy services.
children
We understand how challenging it is to find time for yourself, however to ensure the safety of children and the peace of mind of clients, we ask that parents or guardians make child care arrangements for their children while they are receiving services. Our services may incorporate equipment and tools such as hot towel warmers, hot stones, cupping cups, muscle scrapers & gua sha tools which could be potentially dangerous for young children. We implement this policy without the intent of offending and hope that you will aid us in keeping a safe environment.
hotel service
If you are requesting for treatments at a hotel, you MUST provide the hotel's name in your additional client notes during checkout, along with the room number. Due to the length of time required to carry the equipment, you MUST allow me 30 minutes before your appointment to set up. Some hotel rooms may be small and may not allow enough room for the massage table. If you’re unsure about the room size, send a picture of the room and get us in touch with hotel management / staff member to discuss options to better assist you. Services WILL NOT be performed on beds!
